چکیده
Radial grooving is a machining process usually applied to generate grooves for thread relief, O-ring positioning, or even cutting-off operations. Due the high forces and difficult chip removal, radial considered critical process, cutting fluids are cooling, lubricating, assistance on removal. Compressed air (AIR) minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) lubri-cooling methods studied as environmentally-friendly alternatives conventional flood (WET) applications of fluids. Although already years in several processes, research associated with using alternative techniques incipient. This work presents comparative analysis these (WET, MQL, AIR) their effects. In each case, factorial design experiments was used evaluate influence conditions, speed, feed rate over force, surface roughness. Results indicate that both AIR MQL may be suitable substitutes traditional WET when active force components finish considered. Besides, smaller were obtained grooving, followed by machining.

On the use of back propagation and radial basis function neural networks in surface roughness prediction
Various artificial neural networks types are examined and compared for the prediction of surface roughness in manufacturing technology. The aim of the study is to evaluate different kinds of neural networks and observe their performance and applicability on the same problem. More specifically, feed-forward artificial neural networks are trained with three different back propagation algorithms, ...

متن کاملInfluence of machining parameters on surface roughness and dry friction
Article history: Received 6 October, 2015 Accepted 7 March 2016 Available online 8 March 2016 Dry friction depends on the surface topography which, in turn, is governed by machining parameters in addition to several other factors,. Therefore, in order to establish a qualitative relationship among these factors, the surface roughness and coefficient of static friction are measured for specimens ...
